U.S. Representative Buddy Carter marked the 235th anniversary of the United States Coast Guard and commented on public safety concerns in American cities through a series of posts on his official Twitter account in early August 2025.

On August 4, 2025, Carter expressed gratitude to the U.S. Coast Guard, stating, “Happy 235th birthday to the United States Coast Guard! From safeguarding our shores to saving precious lives at Camp Mystic – including my grandchildren – we are forever grateful for the brave men and women of the @USCG.”

Later that day, he posted a brief message with a hashtag: “#StandwithSweeney” (August 4, 2025).

Addressing crime statistics in American cities, Carter shared figures comparing data from 2019 to 2023. On August 5, he wrote: “Crime in American cities in 2023 compared to 2019 Homicides: +18% Carjackings: +93% Motor vehicle thefts: +105% The Make Our Streets Safe Again (MOSSA) Act will prioritize public health and return the rule of law to American streets.”

Buddy Carter has maintained a strong electoral record over recent years. In the most recent general election held in 2024, he defeated Patti Hewitt with approximately 62% of the vote. He also secured victories against Wade Herring in 2022 with about 59%, Joyce Griggs in 2020 with roughly 58%, Lisa Ring in 2018 with nearly 58%, and Brian Reese in his initial run for Congress in 2014 with just over 60%.
