Buddy Carter, U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 1st congressional district, addressed several national and local issues in a series of posts on his social media account between August 11 and August 12, 2025.

On August 11, Carter expressed support for former President Donald Trump and called on Congress to take legislative action. He wrote, “.@realDonaldTrump is doing his job. It’s time for Congress to do ours. My Make Our Streets Safe Again Act will support the President in restoring law and order in our nation’s capital and cities nationwide.”

Later that day, Carter commented on an industrial accident in Pennsylvania, stating, “Please join me in prayers for Pennsylvania as it deals with and recovers from the tragedy at U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works Plant. My heart goes out to those killed, missing, injured, and everyone impacted by this devastating event.” The post reflected concern for victims affected by the incident at the U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works Plant.

On August 12, Carter posted about ongoing political controversies involving former President Trump and Congressman Adam Schiff: “They tried to destroy Trump and FAILED. Now, Schiff’s lies are crumbling and #MAGA is stronger than ever.”

Buddy Carter has consistently secured re-election since first winning his seat in 2014 against Brian Reese with nearly 61% of the vote. In subsequent elections—2018 against Lisa Ring (57.8%), 2020 against Joyce Griggs (58.35%), 2022 against Wade Herring (59.15%), and most recently in 2024 against Patti Hewitt (62%)—he has maintained significant majorities over his opponents.
