U.S. Representative Buddy Carter, who serves Georgia’s First Congressional District, recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing military service, immigration-related crime, and rural healthcare.

On July 28, 2025, Carter expressed appreciation for military personnel stationed at Fort Stewart and elsewhere: “Fort Stewart: Rich in history, driven by duty. Beyond grateful for the brave men and women serving in Georgia’s First and around the world.”

The following day, July 29, Carter commented on a fatal incident involving an undocumented immigrant: “Two teens are dead— killed by an illegal immigrant previously convicted of a DUI. Noelia Martinez-Avila should’ve been deported after her first DUI. Instead, she remained here…drunk, killing two young teenagers, and destroying their families. Tragically, this mirrors a case in”

Later that same day, Carter shared his experience attending a pharmacy industry event: “I had a wonderful time at the Independent Pharmacy Cooperative conference! Pharmacies play a vital role in ensuring rural communities have access to quality care. Huge thanks to @ipcrx for everything you do!”

Buddy Carter has represented Georgia’s First Congressional District since 2015. He has won multiple re-election campaigns with significant margins over his opponents. In the most recent general election in 2024, he defeated Patti Hewitt with 62% of the vote compared to Hewitt’s 38%. Previous victories include wins over Wade Herring in 2022 (59.15% to 40.85%), Joyce Griggs in 2020 (58.35% to 41.65%), Lisa Ring in 2018 (57.8% to 42.2%), and Brian Reese in 2014 (60.9% to 39.1%).
