U.S. Representative Buddy Carter posted a series of updates on his social media account in early August 2025, addressing legislative action and an ongoing situation at Fort Stewart.

On August 5, Carter announced new legislation aimed at public safety: “.@realDonaldTrump, I’m answering the call with the Make Our Streets Safe Again (MOSSA) Act. This will protect our communities and support the removal of dangerous criminals.”

The following day, Carter referenced developments at Fort Stewart, a major U.S. Army installation in Georgia. On August 6 he wrote: “I am monitoring the situation at Fort Stewart. Please join me in prayers for the casualties, their families, and the brave law enforcement officers working to protect our community.” Later that day he added: “Please continue to keep those injured at Fort Stewart, and their loved ones, in your prayers.”

Buddy Carter has represented Georgia’s 1st congressional district since 2015 and has consistently secured re-election victories over multiple election cycles. In 2024, he defeated Patti Hewitt with 62% of the vote; previous wins include contests against Wade Herring in 2022 (59.15%), Joyce Griggs in 2020 (58.35%), Lisa Ring in 2018 (57.8%), and Brian Reese in 2014 (60.9%).
