U.S. Representative Buddy Carter posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account on September 10, 2025, addressing crime policy and judicial decisions under the Biden administration.
In a tweet posted at 12:01 UTC, Carter wrote, “My pleasure! https://t.co/SfdviHzREc”.
Later that day, at 14:26 UTC, Carter referenced the killing of Iryna Zarutska, stating, “Iryna Zarutska was minding her own business when a violent criminal with 14 prior arrests brutally murdered her. She escaped war in Ukraine only to be killed because Democrat governors and mayors let repeat offenders run free.
Soft-on-crime = pro-crime.”
At 15:15 UTC, Carter criticized federal judges appointed by President Biden and policies regarding healthcare for incarcerated individuals. He tweeted, “Biden’s woke, activist judges, like Victoria Calvert, think Georgia taxpayers should pay for sex change surgeries for prisoners.

Buddy Carter has served as U.S. Representative from Georgia’s First Congressional District since 2015. In recent elections he has consistently secured victories against Democratic opponents; most recently in 2024 he defeated Patti Hewitt with 62% of the vote to her 38%. Over previous cycles—2022 against Wade Herring (59.15%), 2020 against Joyce Griggs (58.35%), and earlier contests—he has maintained similar margins of victory.
