Buddy Carter, U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 1st congressional district, posted a series of tweets between August 27 and August 29, 2025, addressing topics ranging from transgender issues to gas prices and energy policy.

On August 27, Carter made several claims about Senator Jon Ossoff and transgender individuals, writing: “Kids are being murdered by trans terrorists, the same people Jon Ossoff pledges to “defend.” He wants to take away your guns. He wants to put men in your daughters’ locker rooms. He wants to put innocent children in harm’s way. Unless you’re trans, Jon Ossoff doesn’t give a https://t.co/Fza3TXX4ph”.

The following day, on August 28, Carter continued his criticism of the political left and transgender advocacy with another post: “The radical left must be held accountable for ‘affirming’ trans terrorists.”

Shifting focus on August 29, Carter praised former President Donald Trump for recent changes in fuel costs: “Thanks to @realDonaldTrump, gas prices are DOWN just in time for Labor Day. The One Big, Beautiful Bill is unleashing American energy dominance! https://t.co/BMhBmr8Nuz”

Buddy Carter has represented Georgia’s 1st congressional district since winning his first election in 2014. In the most recent general election of 2024, he defeated Patti Hewitt with approximately 62% of the vote compared to Hewitt’s 38%. His electoral history includes victories over Wade Herring in 2022 (59.15% to 40.85%), Joyce Griggs in 2020 (58.35% to 41.65%), Lisa Ring in 2018 (57.8% to 42.2%), and Brian Reese in 2014 (60.9% to 39.1%).
