U.S. Representative Buddy Carter recently took to social media to criticize Google and YouTubeTV, comment on a statement by Senator Bernie Sanders, and express support for presidential calls for legislative action.

On October 31, 2025, Carter posted: “Here we go again… First @Google censored conservatives who didn’t agree with their political agenda. Now their corporate greed is shutting down a big college football weekend and depriving YouTubeTV customers of watching Georgia and Georgia Tech. STOP the GREED. Turn the https://t.co/xHW7MGnMqJ”. This tweet accuses Google of censorship against conservatives and criticizes its business practices in relation to streaming access during a major college football event.

Later that day, Carter commented on remarks attributed to Senator Bernie Sanders regarding government shutdown negotiations: “Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders said, ‘If you reopen the government, we lose our leverage.’ Bernie, it’s unfathomable to use hungry children as ‘leverage.’ https://t.co/q5H0PnVCfH”. In this post, Carter objected to the notion of using vulnerable populations as bargaining tools in political discussions.

On November 2, 2025, Carter expressed agreement with a call from the President for legislative change: “Couldn’t agree more, Mr. President. The American people don’t need politicians to be comfortable. They need change. The Senate MUST get this done now! https://t.co/sjaQtDyovu”.

Buddy Carter has maintained his congressional seat through multiple election cycles since first winning in 2014 against Brian Reese with approximately 61% of the vote. He subsequently defeated Joyce Griggs in 2020 (58%), Lisa Ring in 2018 (57.8%), Wade Herring in 2022 (59%), and Patti Hewitt in 2024 (62%).
