Buddy Carter, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 1st district since 2015, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing healthcare and public spending issues.

On July 23, 2025, Carter expressed gratitude to podcast host Joe Rogan for raising concerns about UnitedHealth: “Thank you, @joerogan @joeroganhq, for exposing UnitedHealth. I’ve been pushing this fight in Congress for years. Learn more here https://t.co/B5sgg1uqo4 https://t.co/GnWr1sNnvN”.

Later that day, Carter published another post: “We’re on a roll, America! https://t.co/3QYMpWCZxa”.

On July 24, 2025, Carter commented on the spending by MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority): “MARTA spent nearly $1M on DEI in FY25—including a recruitment trip to Puerto Rico. Tax dollars should go to safety and maintenance, not waste. Georgians deserve better, ESPECIALLY ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. #wokewaste https://t.co/RD9YngG8bA”.

Buddy Carter has served as Georgia’s representative in Congress since succeeding Jack Kingston in 2015. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from 2005 to 2009 and served in the Georgia Senate from 2009 to 2014. Born in Port Wentworth in 1957 and currently residing in Pooler, Carter graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1980.
