Buddy Carter, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 1st district, shared several updates on social media recently. Serving since 2015 after succeeding Jack Kingston, Carter has been an active political figure in both the state and national arenas.

On May 21, 2025, Carter highlighted issues with the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) health care projections. Buddy Carter has had a longstanding career in politics since graduating from the University of Georgia in 1980. Born in Port Wentworth and currently residing in Pooler at age 65, he previously served in both the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate before joining Congress.
