Buddy Carter, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 1st district since 2015, has recently shared his views on several key issues via social media. Carter, who succeeded Jack Kingston in Congress and previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate, is known for his active engagement with legislative matters and public health advocacy.

On June 13, 2025, Buddy Carter expressed support for the House GOP’s initiative to codify savings achieved by the Department of Energy. In his post, he stated: “I’m proud of @HouseGOP for taking the first step to codify @DOGE’s $9.4 BILLION in SAVINGS for hardworking American taxpayers.” He further addressed Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock by saying they are next in line as “the American people are watching.”

Later that day, Carter highlighted a provision within the proposed OBBBA legislation aimed at solidifying previous tax reforms. He noted: “Included in #OBBBA is a provision that will make permanent the Trump Tax Cuts, which unleashed a period of historic economic growth and strength.” He emphasized the potential to replicate past prosperity by averting what he described as “the largest tax hike in American history.”

On June 14, 2025, Carter joined global celebrations for World Blood Donor Day. He acknowledged the impact of blood donations with his message: “I am happy to join the millions of blood donors around the world in celebrating World Blood Donor Day.” He encouraged eligible individuals to donate blood due to its ability to treat multiple patients.

Buddy Carter was born in Port Wentworth, Georgia in 1957 and currently resides in Pooler. An alumnus of the University of Georgia where he earned a BS degree in 1980, Carter has been actively involved in public service for several decades.
