Buddy Carter, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 1st district since 2015, has recently expressed his views on social media regarding various political topics. Carter succeeded Jack Kingston and has been active in politics since serving in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2005 to 2009 and the Georgia Senate from 2009 to 2014.

On June 4, 2025, Buddy Carter posted a tweet stating “Trump’s America Creates Opportunity”. This statement reflects his support for former President Donald Trump’s policies and their impact on creating opportunities in America.

Later that day, at approximately 17:42 UTC, Carter criticized The Washington Post by asserting “We’ve always known that @washingtonpost can spread FAKE NEWS. Now, we know it can spread antisemitism as well.” This comment suggests his disapproval of certain content published by the newspaper.

In another post made at around 18:54 UTC on the same day, Carter reminded his followers about a previous prediction by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) regarding tax cuts implemented during Trump’s presidency. He tweeted “REMINDER: @CBO said the Trump Tax Cuts would decrease revenue by $1.5 trillion. In reality, revenue INCREASED $1.5 trillion beyond projections.” Here he draws attention to what he perceives as inaccuracies in economic forecasts related to tax policy.

Buddy Carter was born in Port Wentworth, Georgia in 1957 and currently resides in Pooler. He is an alumnus of the University of Georgia where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1980.
