Buddy Carter, U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 1st district, highlighted key developments affecting Georgians in a series of posts on April 15 and 16, 2026.

On April 15, Carter posted about the impact of tax policy in Georgia: “In Georgia, it’s farmers, small businesses, and working families who keep our economy strong. The Working Families Tax Cuts are providing Georgians with the largest tax cuts in American history!”

Later that day, Carter congratulated a prominent state figure: “Congratulations to the legendary former Governor of Georgia, Sonny Perdue, on his retirement as Chancellor of the University System of Georgia. He is, in every sense, an institution in the state of Georgia.”

On April 16, Carter acknowledged improvements at the Department of Veterans Affairs since the beginning of President Biden’s second term: “Since the start of @POTUS’s second administration, Department of Veterans Affairs claim processing times have dropped by 43%! Great work, @SecVetAffairs! You’ve done a fantastic job putting veterans first, helping our heroes and their families access benefits faster than ever.”

Buddy Carter has held his seat in Congress since replacing Jack Kingston in 2015 and has consistently won re-election against several challengers over the past decade. In the most recent contest in 2024, he defeated Patti Hewitt with 62% of the vote.
