Buddy Carter, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 1st district since 2015, has been active on social media discussing various political issues. Carter succeeded Jack Kingston and has served in the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate prior to his current role.

On May 13, 2025, Buddy Carter expressed his support for the Tobacco Harm Reduction Caucus by joining forces with fellow politician Guy Reschenthaler. In his post, he stated: “I am proud to join my friend @GReschenthaler on the Tobacco Harm Reduction Caucus. This is an important effort to increase access to harm reduction products and decrease health risks for more Americans.”

Later that day, Carter criticized certain Democratic members of Congress regarding their actions related to an ICE facility incident. He remarked: “The radical left has lost their minds – they would rather raid an ICE facility to defend criminal illegal immigrants than represent their own constituents. The three Democratic members involved in this stunt do not deserve to sit on committees alongside serious lawmakers.”

In another post from May 13, 2025, Carter highlighted his legislative efforts aimed at maintaining the integrity of Congress. He commented: “If I wanted to work with clowns, I would’ve joined the circus. My bill preserves the integrity of Congress by ensuring only serious, law-abiding members serve on committees.”

Buddy Carter was born in Port Wentworth, Georgia in 1957 and currently resides in Pooler. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
