Buddy Carter, U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 1st congressional district, posted a series of statements on November 6, 2025, addressing legislative priorities and criticizing political opponents.

In a tweet published at 19:42 UTC, Carter outlined his support for several policy actions: “END the filibuster REOPEN the government PASS Trump’s America First agenda https://t.co/ri99M0jnFF”.

Later that evening at 20:35 UTC, Carter criticized Senator Jon Ossoff and New York State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani. He wrote: “Jon Ossoff stands in lockstep with Zohran Mamdani, a radical socialist pushing open borders and free health care for illegal immigrants that will fall on the backs of hardworking Americans.”

At 21:24 UTC on the same day, Carter continued his critique of Ossoff and Mamdani’s positions regarding immigration policies. He stated: “Ossoff supports open borders. Mamdani supports sanctuary city policies that shield criminal illegals from ICE. Their policies would make our communities less safe.”

Carter has represented Georgia’s 1st congressional district since winning election in 2014. He has consistently secured re-election victories over Democratic challengers including Brian Reese (2014), Lisa Ring (2018), Joyce Griggs (2020), Wade Herring (2022), and Patti Hewitt (2024). In the most recent contest in 2024, he defeated Hewitt with approximately 62% of the vote to her 38%.
