Buddy Carter, U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 1st congressional district, posted a series of messages on social media addressing issues ranging from foreign policy to public health and tax legislation.

On August 21, 2025, Carter voiced his support for former President Trump and the state of Israel, stating: “I am proud to stand with President Trump in supporting our ally Israel against Islamic terrorists. Ossoff? Not so much.”

Later that day, Carter marked National Fentanyl Awareness and Prevention Day by highlighting legislative efforts: “National Fentanyl Awareness and Prevention Day reminds us of the lives lost too soon to this deadly drug. I joined @RepPaulTonko in introducing a resolution to forever remember fentanyl’s victims and continue efforts to address this crisis.”

On August 22, 2025, Carter promoted recent tax legislation affecting families in Bryan County: “The One Big, Beautiful Bill is delivering an average $3,267 in tax savings for Bryan County families, putting your hard-earned money back in your pocket where it belongs. Check out how much you save here!”

Carter has represented Georgia’s 1st congressional district since winning his first election in 2014. He has consistently secured re-election by significant margins; most recently in 2024 he defeated Patti Hewitt with 62% of the vote compared to Hewitt’s 38%. In previous cycles—2022, 2020, and earlier—he maintained similar leads over his opponents.
