Buddy Carter, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 1st district since 2015, recently shared updates on social media regarding personal and political matters. Born in Port Wentworth, Georgia, in 1957, Carter has been an active political figure for several decades.

On July 6, 2025, Buddy Carter posted about a personal incident involving his family. “As you may have heard, my granddaughters were at the summer camp in Texas that flooded. They are safe, and I thank you for your well-wishes and prayers during this time.” He also expressed sorrow over the loss of his granddaughters’ cousin Janie and others affected by the flooding.

The following day, July 7, Carter expressed gratitude towards emergency responders who assisted during the flooding event. In his tweet, he wrote: “Heartbroken. Grateful beyond words to our local, state, and federal emergency heroes. Thank you for your bravery and tireless service.”

On July 8, Carter turned to international affairs by voicing support for President Trump’s global peace efforts. He stated: “President Trump has advanced peace around the globe.” Additionally, he expressed pride in supporting Prime Minister Netanyahu’s endorsement of Trump’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Buddy Carter’s career began in state politics with service in both the Georgia House of Representatives from 2005 to 2009 and the Georgia Senate from 2009 to 2014 before entering Congress.
