Buddy Carter, U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 1st congressional district, has used his social media platform to comment on tax legislation and national leadership. In a series of posts in August 2025, Carter highlighted both recent legislative developments and his continued support for former President Donald Trump.

On August 18, 2025, Carter posted: “.@realDonaldTrump’s art of the deal: PEACE through STRENGTH https://t.co/KiQagoJLpB”.

The following day, he addressed local tax policy impacts: “In 2026, Chatham County families will see tax cuts averaging over $3,300 thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Carter has consistently won re-election in Georgia’s 1st district since first being elected in 2014. He most recently defeated Patti Hewitt in the 2024 general election with approximately 62% of the vote to Hewitt’s 38%. In previous cycles, he secured victories against Wade Herring in 2022 (59.15% to 40.85%), Joyce Griggs in 2020 (58.35% to 41.65%), Lisa Ring in 2018 (57.8% to 42.2%), and Brian Reese in 2014 (60.9% to 39.1%).
