Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) announced that more than $146 million is allocated to Georgia’s First Congressional District in the House-passed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The bill now moves to the Senate for further consideration.

The funding includes $119 million designated for Kings Bay Naval Base and $27 million for the Air National Guard Training Facility at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. Additional funds will support Compass Call Aircraft, which benefits Gulfstream.

“Georgia’s First Congressional District has a strong military community that makes the entire nation safer. I’m proud to bring this critical funding home to support our national defense operations and the brave men and women who selflessly serve their country day in and day out. With these funds, we will ensure that our world-class troops have the world-class resources necessary to defend the homeland,” said Rep. Carter.

Rep. Buddy Carter has maintained his seat in Congress through several election cycles, defeating opponents such as Patti Hewitt in 2024, Wade Herring in 2022, Joyce Griggs in 2020, Lisa Ring in 2018, and Brian Reese in 2014.
