The Coastal Georgia Military Affairs Coalition (CGMAC) recently engaged in crucial meetings at the Pentagon and with members of the Georgia Congressional Delegation. The sessions took place on June 10 and June 11, 2025, focusing on advancing military support for installations and personnel in Coastal Georgia.
In discussions with Representatives Buddy Carter, Austin Scott, Sanford Bishop, and Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, CGMAC highlighted several priorities. These included securing planning and design funding for projects at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, safeguarding the Coastal Regional Training Center (CRTC), and acquiring the final four C-130J aircraft for the 165th Airlift Wing.
The community delegation involved notable figures such as Chester Ellis, Chairman of Chatham County; Karl Riles, Mayor of Hinesville; Michael Kaigler, Chatham County Manager; Leah Poole from Liberty County Chamber of Commerce; Jared Downs from Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce; Linda Cramer, Assistant Chatham County Manager; Kathryn Downs, Assistant Bryan County Manager; Chris Payne from Cross Potomac Consulting LLC; and Dr. Eric Miller from Cross Potomac Consulting LLC.
During Pentagon meetings, participants included Brigadier General Stewart Hammons from Air Force NGB A8, Dr. Jeff Waksman acting as ASA IEE, Lieutenant General David Wilson G9 among others like Dan Klippstein SOPDO PDASA and David Dentino DASA IH&P.
The CGMAC’s efforts reflect a commitment to ensuring sustained development for military operations in Coastal Georgia through strategic partnerships and advocacy at both state and federal levels.
