Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bert Brantley met with members of the Savannah CFO Council last week to discuss several topics, including the upcoming Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) campaign and the LEADS Nashville trip.

Brantley highlighted the importance of engaging financial professionals in regional initiatives. “The CFO Council is a terrific group of financial professionals committed to becoming more involved in our region,” Brantley said. “As you would expect, the discussion was thoughtful and forward-looking, and I really appreciate being able to cover some important topics.”

A significant portion of the meeting focused on preparations for the SPLOST vote scheduled for November. Brantley introduced a new map outlining where SPLOST-funded projects are planned throughout the area. He encouraged attendees to consider supporting an informational campaign about the election, noting that a dedicated website will be launched soon and a kickoff event is planned as the official start to campaign efforts.

In addition, Brantley spoke about this week’s LEADS Nashville trip, which will bring together over 70 regional leaders for three days in Nashville. The group will explore how Nashville has addressed challenges similar to those facing Savannah and will examine solutions implemented there.
