District 3 road repairs and resurfacing set for October in Effingham County

Multiple road maintenance projects are scheduled to begin in District 3 of Effingham County starting in October. The planned work includes patching on Springfield Egypt Road, Union Springs Road, and Pitts Road beginning October 1. Resurfacing is set to start on October 6 for Fourth Street, Old Dixie Highway, Old Louisville Road, Lower Ferry Road, Tuckasee King Road, Springfield Egypt Road, Union Springs Road, Pitts Road, and Green Morgan School Road. All dates are subject to change depending on weather conditions.

Enrollment at Effingham County schools increased by 3.6% during the 2022-23 academic year compared to the previous year (https://www.gadoe.org/). In total, county schools enrolled 13,373 students in that period (https://www.gadoe.org/).
