Georgia Engineering Magazine has recognized four leaders from the City of Savannah on its annual list of the 100 Most Influential Women in Georgia Engineering. The honorees are Faye DiMassimo, Chief of Planning and Economic Development; Cristy Lawrence, Senior Director of Capital Projects; Julie McLean, Senior Director of Development Services; and Jennifer Roach, Deputy City Engineer.

City Manager Jay Melder praised their contributions, stating: “Team Savannah is fortunate to have these brilliant engineering minds working each day on the present and future challenges of our infrastructure.” He highlighted their roles as pivotal contributors and role models during a period of unprecedented regional growth.

The list honors women across Georgia who impact the engineering industry. Nominations are made by peers and selected by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC). The magazine serves as ACEC Georgia’s trade publication.

DiMassimo appears on the list for the fourth consecutive year, boasting over 40 years in multimodal transportation systems and infrastructure programs. Lawrence, with over 30 years in civil engineering, marks her third appearance on this list. She leads the City’s Capital Projects department and presides over the Board of Directors at Savannah Engineering Academy.

McLean brings 37 years in civil engineering to her role overseeing public capital improvement projects exceeding $150 million. Roach enforces regulations related to flood damage prevention and manages site permitting for development after joining the city in 2023.
