The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking public input on a proposed project to improve the intersection of Ga. Hwy 30 and Hodgeville Road in Chatham County. The plan involves replacing the current “T” intersection with a single-lane roundabout and adding an eastbound bypass lane for Ga. Hwy 30 at Hodgeville Road, covering a project length of 0.6 miles. According to GDOT, the bypass lane is intended to support efficient traffic flow through the new roundabout, and no detour is expected during construction.

Information about the proposal can be found on GDOT’s website at https://www.dot.ga.gov/GDOT/Pages/PublicOutreach.aspx by selecting “Current Public Meeting,” locating project PI# 0018023, and clicking “See Details.” The online materials are available as an alternative to an in-person meeting, allowing residents to review details, submit feedback, or ask questions.

For those needing accessible formats of the materials, requests can be directed to district planning and programming liaison Katie Proctor at kproctor@dot.ga.gov or by calling 912-530-4457.

Comments on the project will be accepted until October 17. Written statements may be sent to Mr. Eric Duff, State Environmental Administrator at Georgia Department of Transportation, 600 West Peachtree St., NW – 16th Floor, Atlanta, Ga. 30308.
