State Representative Teddy Reese of Columbus has been appointed as the vice chairman of the House Study Committee on Affordability & Accessibility of Georgia’s Legitimation Process. The appointment was made by House Speaker Jon Burns from Newington.

Rep. Reese expressed his gratitude for the appointment, stating, “I am extremely honored that Speaker Burns selected me to be the vice chair of this very important study committee.” He emphasized the importance of complete families and father engagement in youth development, adding, “Promoting strong family values and strong family units is not a bad thing.”

The study committee was established through House Resolution 753. Its purpose is to explore ways to make Georgia’s legitimation process more affordable and accessible, especially for biological fathers with limited financial resources.

Other members appointed to the committee include State Representative Carter Barrett from Cumming as Chairman, along with State Representatives Lynn Heffner from Augusta, Rob Clifton from Evans, and Vance Smith from Pine Mountain.
