The Georgia House of Representatives has announced the passing of former State Representative Judy Manning, who served from 1997 to 2012 representing Cobb County.

“Dayle and I are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former State Representative Judy Manning,” said House Speaker Jon Burns. “Chairlady Manning’s years of dedicated and passionate service to her community undoubtedly created a brighter future not only for her constituents in Cobb County, but for the entire state of Georgia. Our prayers remain with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Manning represented House District 34 and chaired several committees, including those overseeing the Department of Natural Resources, Child Services, and Appropriations.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Historic Marietta Chapel in Marietta. The funeral will take place on Saturday, September 13 at the same location.

Jon Burns has served as a Republican member of the Georgia State House since his election in 2005 to represent District 159.
