Georgia Power is encouraging small business owners to participate in its Small Commercial Direct Install (SCDI) Program, which offers significant financial support for energy-efficient upgrades. The program covers up to 70% of the costs for improvements such as smart thermostats, LED lighting, and HVAC maintenance.

One Atlanta retail store that took part in the initiative reported saving $38,238 on project costs and expects annual energy savings of 71,110 kWh after upgrading to LED lighting.

Business owners interested in the program can start by filling out a short online form. If eligible, an assessor will visit their facility and provide a customized report outlining potential equipment upgrades and estimated savings. To be considered for an assessment by September 15, applicants are encouraged to complete the SCDI form promptly.

For more details about the SCDI Program, business owners can call 1-855-950-GPDI (4734), send an email to the address provided by Georgia Power, or visit the company’s website.
