Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4016, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2026. This legislation provides funding for the Department of Defense (DoD) and supports national security, military operations abroad, and the well-being of Armed Forces members and their families. Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) expressed his support for the bill with a statement.

“As I’ve said before, strong national security begins with a strong defense. Not only does this legislation ensure that the Department of Defense is properly funded, but it also sends a clear message to our adversaries that America’s military is fully focused on superiority and lethality,” said Congressman Allen. He added that he was proud to support the bill which strengthens the nation on the world stage, provides a pay raise for military personnel, cuts waste, and ensures safety for American citizens.

The Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2026 focuses on several key areas:

Enhancing America’s military superiority by investing in advanced aircraft and allocating funds for missile defense and space programs. It also includes financial support for Israeli cooperative missile defense programs.

Caring for troops and their families by implementing a 3.8% pay increase effective January 1, 2026, continuing historic pay raises for junior enlisted servicemembers, and improving quality of life through measures like slowing permanent change of station moves.

Shaping an efficient Department of Defense by eliminating waste through improved management practices at the Pentagon and requiring detailed reporting on allocations.

Supporting policies from President Trump’s administration by prohibiting funding for certain programs such as Diversity, Equity, Inclusion efforts, sex-change surgeries, abortion-related travel, drag queen shows, COVID vaccine mandates.

Congressman Allen urged Senate colleagues to support this bill to further strengthen national defense.
