In July, the Leadership Savannah Class of 2025 explored the key economic drivers of the region. The program commenced at the Savannah Economic Development Authority, where President & CEO Trip Tollison and Anna Chafin from Regional Industrial Support Enterprise discussed business recruitment strategies, workforce challenges, and a vision for Chatham County’s future.

The participants then visited the Savannah Chatham Manufacturing Center. They toured SEOYON E-Hwa Savannah, a Tier 1 supplier to Hyundai Motor Group. The visit highlighted global investments and emphasized the importance of local manufacturers in Georgia’s automotive industry.

The day concluded with a visit to the Georgia Ports Authority’s Garden City Terminal. Class members observed record-breaking TEU volumes and learned about infrastructure upgrades and strategic planning that help maintain the Port of Savannah’s competitiveness on an international level.

This session provided insight into the partnerships and innovations driving Savannah’s economy.
