The Leadership Savannah Graduate Series commenced this week at The Clyde Venue. The event featured the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s presentation of its 2025 ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) data, providing insights into the economic challenges faced by working families in the region. Attendees participated in a poverty simulation to better understand the daily struggles and decisions faced by many community members.

The evening continued with a cocktail hour welcoming two new leaders to Savannah: Retired Chief Justice Michael Boggs, now a Partner at Hunter Maclean, and Dr. Jermaine Whirl, President of Savannah State University.

The next event in the series is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17. It will include a “Note to Self” panel moderated by Dr. Joe Buck, featuring Don Waters, Pastor Charles Roberson, Mayor Pro Tempore Gabrielle Nelson, and Susan Hancock. These panelists will share reflections and advice they would offer their younger selves. Tickets are currently available.

Leadership Savannah alumni are invited to join the Leadership Savannah Legacy League. This program offers access to all three Graduate Series events and includes a commemorative lapel pin. Members will be honored at an upcoming event as part of an ongoing celebration of leadership.
