Lehman Franklin, a Republican elected to the Georgia State House in 2023 representing the 160th District, highlighted recent achievements and ongoing projects in his district through a series of posts on social media.
On January 5, 2026, Franklin wrote, “Over the last couple of budget cycles, we’ve secured hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for education in our district. And while there’s more work ahead, I’m proud of these results! There’s nothing more important to securing our future than educating the next generation.”
The following day, he attended an event celebrating new healthcare infrastructure. On January 6, 2026, Franklin posted, “Proud to attend the ribbon cutting today for the new Care Station in downtown Statesboro! This unique health care option will provide easier access to medication and tests for the community. Thanks to everyone who made this possible – it was truly a group effort!”
Later that same day, Franklin addressed transportation and infrastructure investments: “Over the last couple of years, we’ve secured $685 million in funding for GDOT projects in the district that will go towards upgrades for everything from roads and bridges to shared bike paths, and EV charging stations. More to come!”
Franklin succeeded Jan Tankersley as representative after his election in 2023. As a member of Georgia’s state legislature for District 160—a region encompassing parts of Bulloch County—he has focused on increasing public investment across education, healthcare access points like Statesboro’s Care Station opening, and infrastructure improvements through significant funding allocations.
