Lehman Franklin, a Republican elected to the Georgia State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 160th House District, shared updates on recent legislative developments and commemorative events through his social media posts.
On April 1, 2026, Franklin announced the passage of new legislation focused on childhood literacy. He wrote, “Today was a huge day for Georgia! With the final passage of the Georgia Early Literacy Act of 2026, we’re making huge steps forward in making sure that every child in our state can read. I have no doubt this bill is going to change lives. Big thanks to Georgia Southern’s Dr.” In a follow-up post later that evening, he provided additional resources: “Read more here: https://t.co/mzk3uBvkvj”.
The following day, Franklin marked a national milestone at the state capitol. On April 2, 2026, he posted: “America 250 Day at the Capitol! Great to celebrate the anniversary of our nation’s founding today, and the values that have shaped us for the last 250 years: freedom, opportunity, and the American spirit! Even better to celebrate alongside Freedom II!”
Franklin succeeded Jan Tankersley as representative for Georgia’s 160th House District after being elected in 2023.
