State Representative Carl Gilliard, a Democrat from Savannah, will be recognized for more than four decades of service to Georgia at an event scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 2025. The celebration will take place at Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Center in Savannah.

The event will feature a keynote speech by Isaac Newton Farris, who is the nephew of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
