Rick W. Allen, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 12th district since 2015, shared his views on various topics via social media on May 14, 2025. His posts covered subjects from National Police Week to Medicaid policies and energy agendas.

On May 14, 2025, Allen reflected on the significance of National Police Week. He stated, “National Police Week serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our law enforcement officers and the vital role they play in protecting our communities, our families, and our loved ones.” He emphasized the service of law enforcement officers extending beyond their official duties.

Later that day, at 17:42 UTC, Allen addressed Medicaid policies by highlighting a stance taken by his political party. He mentioned that the “.@HouseGOP wants to preserve and strengthen Medicaid for the most vulnerable,” while advocating for work requirements for able-bodied adults receiving benefits.

In another post at 20:33 UTC on May 14, Allen criticized what he described as misinformation from Democratic colleagues regarding an agenda supported by House Commerce and President Biden. According to him, this agenda aims to advance American energy independence and support innovation while rejecting mandates similar to those proposed in the Green New Deal. As he expressed it: “Despite over 24 hours of lies, fear-mongering, and misleading claims from my Democratic colleagues.”

Allen was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1951 and graduated from Auburn University with a BS degree in 1973.
