Rick W. Allen, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 12th district since 2015, has taken to social media to express his gratitude towards educators and healthcare professionals, as well as to discuss trade actions impacting the agricultural sector.

On May 6, 2025, Allen acknowledged the efforts of teachers on National Teacher Appreciation Day. He encouraged others to join him in expressing gratitude: “Thank you, teachers! On National Teacher Appreciation Day, join me in thanking the teachers in #GA12 and across the nation who educate the next generation of America’s leaders. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom!”

Later that day, he extended his appreciation to nurses on National Nurses Day. In his message posted at 20:22 UTC, he stated: “A special thank you to all nurses who dedicate their lives to providing quality care to those in need! #NationalNursesDay”

The following day, on May 7, Allen commented on trade policies affecting farmers. He shared insights from a significant portion of the farming community regarding President Trump’s trade actions: “70% of farmers expect @POTUS’ reciprocal trade action will strengthen the agricultural economy in the long-term. Our farmers depend on free and fair trade, and President Trump is taking the necessary actions to level the playing field.”

Rick W. Allen was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1951 and graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973.
