Rick W. Allen, U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 12th district since 2015, recently shared a series of posts on social media highlighting personal milestones and legislative priorities.

On July 21, 2025, Allen marked his wedding anniversary with a public message to his spouse: “52 years and counting! Happy anniversary, Robin! https://t.co/uznz0Dl2Go”.

Later that day, Allen addressed border security in the United States by sharing statistics about the release of undocumented immigrants into the country. He stated: “Illegal aliens released into the United States:

May 2024: >62,000
June 2024: >27,000

May 2025: 0
June 2025: 0

@HouseGOP and @POTUS have SECURED America’s borders.” (July 21, 2025).

On July 23, Allen introduced new legislation aimed at household appliance regulations. He wrote: “Following the Biden-Harris Administration’s four-year assault on consumer choice, I am proud to introduce the Don’t Mess with My Home Appliances Act.

The days of issuing burdensome standards on household appliances that would drive up costs and reduce availability are OVER. https://t.co/VC2S3O4Llf“.

Allen has served as a member of Congress since replacing John Barrow in 2015. Born in Augusta, Georgia in 1951 and an Auburn University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973, Allen continues to reside in Augusta while representing his district in Washington.
