Rick W. Allen, U.S. Representative from Georgia’s 12th congressional district, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing union spending and expressing condolences for a fallen police officer in Atlanta.

On August 7, 2025, Allen raised concerns about the use of union funds by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), stating: “Using union funds to pay a luxury private limousine service suggests that AFT is financing personal conveniences for senior officers rather than using union funds appropriately.” He added, “Chairman @RepWalberg and I are demanding answers.”

The following day, on August 8, 2025, Allen shared a link via his social media account without additional commentary: https://t.co/ILYBLXt1BL

On August 9, 2025, Allen responded to an incident in Atlanta involving the death of a police officer. He wrote: “Heartbroken by the loss of life in Atlanta this evening. Robin and I are praying for the family and loved ones of the officer who was tragically killed in the line of duty.

This brave hero rushed into danger to save innocent lives. Please join us in praying for all those”

Allen has served as U.S. Representative since winning his seat in 2014 against John Barrow. He has subsequently secured re-election multiple times, including victories over Elizabeth Johnson in 2020, 2022, and 2024 with margins ranging from approximately 58% to over 60% of the vote.
