The City of Savannah’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department is set to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 25, at 3:30 p.m. The event will mark the completion of improvements to Ben Van Clark/Live Oak Park.

The enhancements are part of the city’s Recreation Re-Imagine initiative, which aims to enhance recreational facilities across Savannah. Upgrades at the park include a new splashpad, an upgraded pavilion, new water fountains and signage, as well as improvements to the basketball court.

These improvements represent an investment of $129,700 in Ben Van Clark Park. This is part of over $600,000 spent in District 2 and more than $4 million invested citywide under the Recreation Re-Imagine program.

City leaders and staff will be present at the ceremony to officially open the splashpad and celebrate other upgrades. The event is free and open to all residents who are encouraged to attend.
