The City of Savannah’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department is set to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, June 13 at 2:30 p.m. This event will mark the opening of a new playground located in Wilshire Estates.

The newly developed play area includes a multi-station play structure, swing bays, and a miniature whirl designed for children between the ages of 5 to 12. Additional enhancements such as perimeter fencing and new walkways have been added to meet ADA accessibility standards, ensuring the space is safe and accessible for everyone.

This $82,369 project is part of the City’s “Recreation Re-Imagine” initiative aimed at upgrading and expanding recreational spaces throughout Savannah.

City officials will be present at the ceremony to officially open the playground. The event is free, open to all residents, and they are encouraged to attend.

After its opening, the playground will be available for public use every day from dawn until 9 p.m.
