Savannah’s business community has expressed support for the faculty and staff of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System as the new academic year begins. On Monday, more than 36,000 students returned to classrooms across the district. The school system is led by Superintendent Denise Watts and Board Chair Roger Moss.

A statement from the business community said, “Your unwavering commitment to student success has helped our young learners thrive inside and beyond. We look forward to the day these graduates join our local workforce, bringing fresh energy, new ideas, and a passion for this community we all call home. Here’s to a year of growth, discovery, and achievement!”

The return of students marks an important event for both education in Savannah and its future workforce.
