Since 2021, the City of Savannah has expanded its aquatic offerings by opening six new splash pads and renovating or replacing another six. This expansion is part of the Recreation Re-Imagined initiative, which aims to enhance recreational facilities and provide safe, inclusive amenities for residents. The city now manages a total of 16 aquatic facilities, including four pools.

The newly constructed Montgomery Cross Rd. splash pad cost $110,000 and is part of over $490,000 invested in Aldermanic District 5. In total, more than $4 million has been spent citywide on recreation infrastructure improvements over the past four years.

In line with the city’s commitment to equitable access to recreation, all splash pads are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., available for use from March through October.

City leaders will be present at the official opening of the new splash pad on July 9 at 10 a.m., located at 401 W. Montgomery Cross Rd. The event is free and open to all residents.
