The City of Savannah, in partnership with E-93 Radio, is set to launch its 100 Days of Summer program on May 23 at Daffin Park Pool. The event will feature a free summer pool party starting at 3 p.m., with music by E-93’s DJ, food, drinks, games, and giveaways.
Each year, the city collaborates with various departments to offer engaging programs for youth during the summer months. This year’s initiative includes contributions from Community Services, the Savannah Police Department, and the Savannah Fire Department. Programs offered will include camps and outdoor movie nights.
Community Services will highlight several initiatives such as a Summer Youth Employment and Violence Intervention Program, visual and performing arts camps, and sports leagues. The Savannah Fire Department plans to host Camp Ignite in July. This camp is aimed at introducing girls to careers in fire service. Meanwhile, the Savannah Police Department has scheduled activities for June including Juneteenth events and Magic Marc summer shows.
Details about the 100 Days of Summer programming can be accessed through official channels.
City pools are owned and operated by Savannah at four locations: Daffin Park Pool, Tompkins Community Center Pool, Bowles C. Ford Park Pool, and W.W. Law Pool. These facilities will open in May with specific operating hours throughout the week.
General summer camps are scheduled from May 27 to July 18 across ten community centers in Savannah. Each center will offer unique themed sessions lasting two weeks each. Specialty Camps like Sports Camps and Enrichment Art & Music Camp will also be available alongside Therapeutic Camps for adults and youth.
Additionally, summer lunches will be provided from June 2 to July 18 at various parks including Daffin Park and Edgemere Park from Monday through Friday between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
