Savannah offices close for Juneteenth; sanitation services affected

City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will close on Thursday, June 19, to observe the Juneteenth federal holiday. Emergency services will continue to operate without interruption.

Sanitation services in the city will experience adjustments due to the holiday closure. Residential garbage and yard waste collection services will not occur on June 19. These services will resume on Friday, June 20, following a one-day delayed schedule. Additionally, street sweepers will not be operational on June 19 but will return to their regular service on June 20.

Recycling services remain unaffected and will follow the usual operating schedule. The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station are set to close on June 19 as well, reopening at their normal hours the following day.

Residents should refer to the annual Sanitation schedule or contact (912) 651-6579 for more details regarding their collection day.
