Savannah’s Waterfront hosted its annual Independence Day Celebration on July 4, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The event attracted thousands who gathered to partake in patriotic festivities, live entertainment, and community activities across three venues: Plant Riverside District, Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, and Eastern Wharf.

The evening culminated with a fireworks display launched from a barge near the Savannah Convention Center. The show was choreographed to a patriotic musical soundtrack, illuminating the night sky in celebration of American freedoms.

Looking ahead, Savannah’s Waterfront is preparing for an even larger celebration in 2026 to mark the Semiquincentennial—250 years since American independence. Organizers encourage the public to stay informed as planning begins for this significant event. Appreciation was extended to sponsors who supported this year’s community celebration.
