The Savannah Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the Oglethorpe Mall on July 2. The event resulted in non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to two adult males and one juvenile male.

Officers responded to the scene around 5:41 p.m. following reports of a shooting and found three individuals with gunshot injuries. Chatham County EMS transported these victims to Memorial Health University Medical Center for further medical attention. Additionally, three other people were taken to the same medical facility for complications not related to gunshots.

The mall was evacuated by police and subsequently cleared by the SPD SWAT team before being returned to management.

“Savannah Police responded quickly to this event, and I am proud of our officers’ coordinated response,” stated Lenny B. Gunther, Savannah Chief of Police. “I also want to thank the agencies that responded to this incident. To the citizens of Savannah, know that we will work tirelessly to keep our city safe and will be relentless in bringing everyone involved to justice.”
