Letter Writing to Nursing Home Residents

Large c9481b20 f45a 463b bfdc fc97ec67ce0b

Richmond Hill Middle School issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.

Mrs. Walker’s students spread holiday cheer while also practicing their letter writing skills and penmanship.

Each student adopted a nursing home resident from a facility in Mississippi where Mrs. Walker’s father serves as the maintenance supervisor. They wrote a personalized letter filled with season’s greetings and hand-drawn pictures.

During this activity, students were refreshed on friendly letter format to include components of a letter as well as how to organize, align, and punctuate and capitalize information while addressing an envelope. Every resident was adopted, and letters have been mailed to make it just in time for Christmas!   #WeAreRHMS
