Benedictine Military School issued the following announcement on March 24.
After marching in the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade last Thursday, Benedictine Military School sport shooting team member Jackson Ferland, a sophomore, traveled to Griffin, Ga., to compete in the 2022 Gator Cup sporting clays tournament. Just before severe weather rolled into Griffin on Friday and all courses halted, Ferland put up a solid score on the preliminary course, placing second in A class and first in Sub-Junior concurrent. On Saturday, he was back at it, finishing in the top 10 of his class in the 5-Stand event and taking first place A class in Super Sporting, as well as tying for second place in Sub-Junior concurrent. For the main event, Ferland shot his first course Saturday as well and finished up his second course Sunday. His combined score for the main event earned him a second-place A class and fifth-place Sub-Junior concurrent. Great job, Jackson ! The future of the GISA state championship-winning BC sport shooting team continues to look very bright! #thebc400 #NextLevel
