Benedictine Military School defeated Burke County, 28-3, in both teams’ Region 3-AAAA football opener Thursday night at Memorial Stadium. BC (4-2 overall, 1-0 region) entered the game ranked sixth in the state, while Burke County (5-1, 0-1) was ranked fifth. BC led, 14-3, at halftime. BC’s student section dressed in purple for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Penn State Football Head Coach James Franklin attended the game and scouted from BC’s sideline.
