The City of Savannah has announced that curbside recycling collection services will resume normal operations on Tuesday, October 15. The service had been temporarily suspended due to the effects of Hurricane Helene, allowing residents to use recycling carts for garbage overflow.

Residents are reminded that starting October 15, recycling carts should be used exclusively for recyclable materials. The Sanitation Department will no longer collect garbage overflow from these carts, and all non-recyclable waste must be placed in regular city-issued residential trash carts.

"The City of Savannah remains committed to promoting recycling and reducing waste," stated a representative from the Office of Communications. For further details on recyclable materials and curbside collection guidelines, residents can visit the city's website or contact customer service at 912-651-6579.
