On June 13, 2023, a District 8 Town Hall meeting took place at Brock Elementary School to discuss the construction of a new K-12 facility in Garden City. This facility will house Gould Elementary, Mercer Middle, and Groves High School on one campus. The presentation from the meeting is available in both English and Spanish for those who could not attend.

During the meeting, several questions were addressed regarding the new multi-school campus. One concern was about separating students during lunch. It was confirmed that there will be a permanent partition in the cafeteria to separate high school students from elementary and middle school students. "There is a large window on the partition... however, students will not be able to see the other side," it was stated.

Security measures for the campus were also discussed. The site will have perimeter fencing and controlled access exterior doors similar to other district sites. Doors separating different school levels will also have controlled access.

Questions about transportation and opening dates remain unanswered at this time, with more details expected as construction progresses. Currently, bus transportation is offered to students living more than a mile and a half from their zoned school.

Uniform colors are expected to remain unchanged for each school, maintaining their individual identities. The Board of Education has approved naming the site Gould/Mercer/Groves Multicampus or G/M/G for short.

Elementary and middle school students will share certain facilities like a cafetorium, gym, and learning commons while high school students will have separate spaces except for a shared auditorium.

The district has researched other schools nationwide that operate under a K-12 model as part of their planning process.
