Bank of America has announced the selection of two high school juniors and seniors from Savannah as part of its Student Leaders program. This initiative is an eight-week paid summer internship aimed at providing students with firsthand experience in community service. Participants will work with Goodwill Southeast Georgia, earning $17 per hour while developing leadership and workforce skills.

In today's changing economic environment, access to workforce experience and career-building opportunities is crucial for young people. The private sector plays a role in supporting young adults to succeed in the current job market. In addition to the Student Leaders program, Bank of America is facilitating paid jobs for 60-70 teens and young adults across Savannah through its support of YMCA of Coastal Georgia.

Patrick O'Neil, president of Bank of America Savannah, stated: “By providing the pathways and resources for young adults to gain the foundational work skills and leadership experience they need to succeed, we are investing in our community's long-term economic growth." He added that "the teens selected for this paid summer intern program are truly extraordinary but may not have had access to opportunities like this until now. The Student Leaders program is just one example of how we connect people to meaningful employment resources that also builds a stronger pipeline of diverse talent for our local workforce."

The class of 2023 Savannah Bank of America Student Leaders has been chosen.
